Privacy policy
Meletao is a Bible-memorization app made by SoloNova LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app collects, what never leaves your phone, what other members of a group can see about you, and how to delete everything. It covers the Meletao iPhone app and this website.
The short version: the app works fully without an account, nothing about you is sold or shared with advertisers, there is no tracking and no third-party analytics, and if you never sign in, nothing you write ever leaves your device.
1. Using Meletao without an account
You can install Meletao and use effectively all of it — browse the bundled Bible, save verses, run drills, climb the ladder, keep a prayer list, and build a streak — without creating an account and without an internet connection. In that mode we receive nothing at all. Everything lives in a database on your phone.
Signing in is optional and enables exactly two things: syncing your own material to your other devices, and joining groups. The rest of this policy describes what happens after you choose to sign in.
2. What never leaves your device
Some of what the app records is deliberately local-only and is never transmitted, even when you are signed in:
- Your drill history — every keystroke-level session log, including which words you stumbled on.
- Local settings and preferences, and the app’s internal sync bookkeeping.
- The Bible itself. All four translations are compiled into the app, so reading and searching scripture involves no request to any server, ever.
3. What we collect when you sign in
Creating an account stores an email address, and syncing copies the material below to our database so your other devices can read it.

| Group material | Groups you own or belong to, their names and join codes, group collections and their progress, any prayer request you post to a group, marks that you prayed for someone’s request, blocks you set, and reports you file. |
We do not collect location, health, financial, or contacts data, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. There is no crash-reporting or analytics SDK in the app.
4. What other people in a group can see
This is the part worth reading twice, because joining a group is the one action in Meletao that shows your material to another person. When you are a member of a group, the other members of that group can see:
- Your display name, username, and avatar color.
- Your current streak and your 35-day habit strip.
- How many verses you have mastered.
- Your progress on that group’s shared collection, including the rung each verse sits on.
- Any prayer request you explicitly post to the group, and who has marked that they prayed for it.
Your personal prayer list never leaves you. Items on your own prayer list are not visible to any other user under any circumstance — that is enforced by row-level security rules in the database itself, not merely by the app’s screens. A prayer request only becomes visible to a group when you deliberately post it to that group.
Leaving a group ends that visibility going forward. Group prayer requests you posted, and the group’s own records, may remain with the group unless you delete them first or delete your account.
5. Why we process it, and on what basis
Every purpose below is app functionality. We do not process your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose you did not ask for.
- To run your account and sync — so the verses you saved on your phone appear on your iPad. Basis: performance of our agreement with you.
- To operate groups — so members can see the shared progress and requests the feature exists to share. Basis: performance of our agreement with you.
- To keep groups safe — handling reports, blocks, and removals. Basis: our legitimate interest in a service that is not used to harm people, and our obligations to Apple’s platform rules.
- To answer you when you write to us. Basis: legitimate interest.
6. Who else touches it
We keep the list of third parties as short as it can be. Today it is one:
- Supabase — provides the hosting, authentication, and database behind sync and groups. Your synced data is stored in Supabase’s Canadian region (ca-central-1) and is processed under Supabase’s data-processing terms. If you use Meletao from outside Canada, your information is transferred there; those transfers are covered by the data-processing terms, including the standard contractual clauses where they are required.
Apple operates the App Store and TestFlight and will have its own record of your download and any purchase, governed by Apple’s privacy policy rather than this one. We receive no personal information from Apple beyond aggregate, anonymous sales and crash summaries.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not disclose it to anyone else except where we are legally required to, or where it is strictly necessary to protect someone’s safety.
7. No advertising, tracking, or sale of data
Meletao contains no advertising, no advertising identifier, no third-party analytics or attribution SDK, and no tracking of you across other companies’ apps or websites. We have never sold personal information and have no plans to. Under Apple’s definition, Meletao does not use your data for tracking.
8. How long we keep it
Synced material is kept for as long as your account exists, because it is your account — the point of it is that your memory work survives a new phone. When you delete your account we delete the rows that belong to you (see below). Support emails are kept for up to 24 months. Reports about content are kept for up to 24 months so that repeated abuse can be recognized as repeated.
9. Deleting your account
Account deletion is inside the app — you do not have to email anyone to get it. Open the You tab, then Delete account, and confirm. This permanently removes your profile, your synced library and collections, your memorization and review state, your prayer items and logs, your daily stats, and your group memberships. It cannot be undone.
Two honest caveats. First, the data on your own phone stays on your phone by design: deleting your account removes what we hold, and if you also want the local copy gone, delete the app. Second, content that was shared into a group — a prayer request you posted, for instance — may persist in that group’s records; delete it before deleting your account if you want it gone. You can also write to info@solonova.io and we will do it for you.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our processing of it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent. If you are in the EU or UK these are GDPR rights; if you are in California they include the CCPA/CPRA rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing — which for us is moot, because we do neither.
Exercise any of them by writing to info@solonova.io. We will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you, and we will not treat you differently for asking. EU and UK users also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.
11. Children
Meletao is rated for users aged 13 and over, because groups and prayer requests let people write text that other people read. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to info@solonova.io and we will delete it.
12. This website
meletao.io sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s font servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request; Google states it does not use those requests to profile you. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server access logs containing IP addresses for security and troubleshooting.
If you give us your email address for the launch announcement, we use it for exactly that one email and nothing else. Every message includes a way to be removed, and you can ask us to delete the address at any time.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date above. If a change materially affects what we collect or who can see it, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent.
